Setting Up ActiveNet

ActiveNet is a service that can be installed directly on your computer quickly and easily, ensuring that all DNS requests are forwarded to Lumiun DNS.

With the arrival of the new Lumiun DNS Agent, an important update has been implemented, bringing significant improvements in network control and security. Check out the main benefits of using ActiveNet below:

  • Device Groups: organize devices into groups and keep your environment more structured and easier to manage. To learn more about this tool, click here.

  • DNS forwarding: it is now possible to forward local domains directly through the Lumiun DNS Panel, facilitating integration with internal networks.

  • DNS Server Protection: even if the user manually changes the DNS servers in the network settings, ActiveNet automatically restores the correct servers, ensuring continuous use of Lumiun DNS.

  • Policies by Device or Group: Apply custom rules to specific devices or inherit policies from the group to which they belong, providing more precise and efficient control.

  • Compatibility with any network: ActiveNet works on any network adapter — Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or external connections, such as in home office environments — without the need for additional configuration.

  • Password Protection: It is possible to create a default password to protect the agent and define who must comply with this password. Under protection, the password will be requested for uninstallation, shutdown, and changes to ActiveNet.

Note: Although developed by Lumiun, ActiveNet is entirely focused on the performance of its partners. Therefore, it does not display any reference to Lumiun in the end customer interface, allowing your company to deliver the service with its own identity and gain even more credibility.

In this article, we will discuss manual installation on Windows computers and installation from GPO (Active Directory).

ActiveNet is currently only available for Windows. Coming soon to iOS and Linux.
