How to configure MikroTik and Lumiun DNS to Display Internal Network IPs in Access Reports

This configuration will make MikroTik forward its DNS query logs, generated by the internal DNS service, to Lumiun DNS log servers. This configuration will allow generating internet access reports containing the IP address of the device on the internal network. Thus, Lumiun DNS reports will also display the specific device's IP address that made each DNS query.

Before this configuration, it is important to ensure that MikroTik is already configured to use Lumiun DNS. You can use one of the methods below:
Configuring MikroTik to use Lumiun DNS via DoH
or
Configuring MikroTik to use Lumiun DNS via DNS53

MikroTik Router Configuration to Send DNS Query Logs to Lumiun DNS Cloud Servers

Access the web management interface of your MikroTik router, for example 'http://192.168.88.1', and log in. After that, click the WebFig button at the top of the page.

Go to the System → Logging menu, click the Actions tab, and then click the Add New button.

In the new Action being created, enter the following values:
Name: lumiundns
Type: remote
Remote Address: 52.67.138.30
Remote Port: 4514
and click OK

Still in the System → Logging menu, click the Rules tab, and then click the Add New button.

In the new Rule being created, enter the following values:
Enabled: yes
Topics: select dns and ! packet
Prefix: enter the Site ID registered in Lumiun DNS (replacing abcd1234 with the desired site ID - see what the ID is on your Sites page)
Action: lumiundns
and click OK

Go to your Sites page in Lumiun DNS and click Settings for the desired Site. In DNS Query Logs, select the Log generated by MikroTik option and save the settings.

That's it! Now you can view the reports with internal IP addresses on your Lumiun DNS dashboard.
