Blocking TLDs
Blocking by TLDs (Top Level Domains) is used to restrict access to internet domains based on their final extension.
TLDs are the endings of website addresses, such as:
- .com
- .org
- .net
- .br
- .xyz
The feature is available on the Policies page, in the Security and Privacy section, as shown in the screenshot below:
By clicking on the field, you will see the section of TLDs with a high incidence of abuse and other suggestions for blocking. If you want to block a specific TLD, simply search for the desired one and click on the block button.
Attention and precautions for using this feature
-
Blocking TLDs means preventing access to any domain that ends with the selected extension. For example: Blocking the .net TLD will prevent access to any website that ends with .net, such as example.net.
-
Avoid unwanted blocking. Some web services use domains with unusual TLDs and may be affected by incorrect blocking.
-
Monitor Lumiun DNS logs to identify blocked accesses. The reports show the reason for the block, in this case, TLDs.
