How to disable Avast Real Site Protection to prevent DNS interception by Avast

Avast Premium Security antivirus has a feature called Avast Real Site Protection, which interferes with your computer's DNS traffic. If you want to use a security solution involving DNS, you must disable Avast Real Site Protection.


  1. Open Avast antivirus by double-clicking on its icon next to the Windows clock.


  1. Click Protection and then Real Site.


  1. Click the switch next to Real Site to turn it off, then select Until I turn it on again.


  1. Confirm by clicking OK, STOP button


Now Avast Real Site Protection will be disabled and you can close the Avast Premium Security window.
