Policies in Lumiun DNS
Policies are the control center of Lumiun DNS. They function as a set of rules applied to network devices, allowing you to define content blocks, release times, security filters and restrictions on search engines and YouTube.
By accessing the Lumiun DNS panel, available at dns.lumiun.com, the first screen displayed will be Access Policies.
1. How to create a new policy
- Click on New Policy.
- The next page is for you to name your policy with its use in mind. In the description you can enter information on how it will be applied in your network.

On the policy configuration screen, you can:

Define free hours (times when browsing will be allowed);

Delete the network policy if necessary;

Activate the option Block methods of bypassing filtering (recommended to prevent attempts to bypass filters).

2. Sacurity and privacy
- Protection filters: This section contains the main protection filters against threats and unwanted content.
- Safe search: This section allows you to restrict search results on Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo. As for YouTube, it will block inappropriate comments and videos on the platform.
3. Focus and productivity
In this tab, you'll find filters aimed at productivity in the work or study environment.
4. Block list
The Block List allows you to add specific domains that you want to block manually, even if they are not included in the standard filters. Simply enter the URL in the field provided and click Add.
5. Allow list
The Allow list you to add specific domains that you want to allow manually, even if they may be blocked from other filters. Simply enter the URL in the field indicated and click Add.
Tip: Policies can be inserted in more than one location while a location can only contain one policy. Remember this when you finish configuring your policy and linking it to a location
