# Configuring Android to use Lumiun DNS via DoT

## This configuration will cause your Android device to send your requests and pass them through the Lumiun DNS filter using the DoT (DNS-over-TLS) protocol.

In this article, you will find step-by-step instructions on how to configure your Android device to use Lumiun DNS.

### Step-by-step

1. Access the **Settings** on your Android device.
2. Go to **Connections** (or **Network** **and Internet**).
3. Go to **More connection settings** (or **Advanced**).
4. Click on **Private DNS.**
5. Select the **Hostname option for the private DNS provider.**
6. Enter the address [`abcd1234.dot.ldns.io`](https://abcd1234.dot.ldns.io/) in the text field — replacing **abcd1234** with the ID of the desired site — *see what the ID is on the sites page.*
7. Click **Save**.
8. Restart your Android device.

That's it! You can now view [reports](https://dns.lumiun.com/relatorios) on your Lumiun DNS dashboard and also define [policy](https://dns.lumiun.com/politicas) rules.
