Configuring Android to use Lumiun DNS via DoT

This configuration will cause your Android device to send your requests and pass them through the Lumiun DNS filter using the DoT (DNS-over-TLS) protocol.

In this article, you will find step-by-step instructions on how to configure your Android device to use Lumiun DNS.

Step-by-step

  1. Access the Settings on your Android device.

  2. Go to Connections (or Network and Internet).

  3. Go to More connection settings (or Advanced).

  4. Click on Private DNS.

  5. Select the Hostname option for the private DNS provider.

  6. Enter the address abcd1234.dot.ldns.io in the text field — replacing abcd1234 with the ID of the desired site — see what the ID is on the sites page.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Restart your Android device.

That's it! You can now view reports on your Lumiun DNS dashboard and also define policy rules.
